What we offer

I offer a clear vision, strong brand positioning, and a well-thought-out concept for Based, a social app designed to fix real-life loneliness. I bring experience in team management, event coordination, social media growth, and startup execution. Everything but code.

Target group

Our target audience is 18–35-year-olds living in cities who feel socially disconnected, want to meet new people, and are tired of overplanned or superficial platforms. They’re curious, open-minded, and looking for low-pressure ways to connect through shared interests, spontaneous vibes, or local events.

Challenges

Our biggest challenge is building trust and traction for a new kind of social interaction one that blends spontaneity with safety. On the tech side, integrating external event data and building a smooth real-time map experience without overwhelming users is a key hurdle.

Our Story

The idea for Based came from frustration with existing friend-finding apps, they’re often 1-on-1, swipe-based, also dating apps, and full of payment barriers. If you’re new in a city and don’t know anyone, it’s hard to connect with like-minded people, especially if you’re not super outgoing. Group chats with friends often take days to agree on something, and spontaneity gets lost.

At the same time, there’s no single place to see what’s happening around you, events are scattered across websites, social media, and flyers on the street. Based brings it all together: spontaneous happenings, curated city events, and interest-based circles where you can connect and act on the moment, low pressure, no small talk, just showing up.

Because sometimes the best connection was already nearby, you just didn’t know it.
