What we offer

Our patented technology allows to transform protein-rich industrial side streams into sustainable bioplastic films through a scalable, water-based process that fits into a circular economy model. In contrast to PLA and other biopolymers obtained through biotransformation of sugars, our technology relies on protein self-assembly, does not result on water depletion and does not interfere with the food chain. Additionally, thanks to the unique functionalities of these novel protein nanofibrils, it is possible to obtain bioplastic films with targeted functional properties, with potential applications in food packaging, cosmetics and biomedicine. A detailed life cycle assessment confirmed how our technology is more sustainable than other commercially available biodegradable plastics.
