Our Story
Venepuncture is the operation of obtaining intravenous access and it is
routinely performed operation in medical procedures like
blood sampling, collection, donation and intravenous therapy.
Usually based on the presumed location of the vessel and the identification of skin anatomical landmarks. It has a success rate for manual methods of 70 to 95%
So why make venepuncture easier, if it has high success rate?
Because for people with hard skin conditions it is difficult to find veins:
* Patients with small veins, dark skin, or a high body weight
* Especially, skin diseases and partially tattooed skin
I designed a hardware extension to be attached to a smart phone with an android application. Goal is to view the veins while doing the venepuncture.
