Our Story
Platform21 was created out of the experience of the Fairmondo team, who created a co-operatively owned online marketplace, but were challenged by the bottle-neck of software development.
Most of the current big digital platforms are still build on the old extractive, monopolistic corporate structures that dominated the last century. For too long, they have increased inequality, promoted mindless consumption, and used our data to extract from us.
We do this together with a diversity of actors who share the vision of community-owned, human-centric, purpose-oriented platforms that truly help people making the best of our digital age.
