Introduction
I studied at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany. Then I went to Chile where I worked for the most important mining companies worldwide, applying always high environmental and safety standards within their operations. Based in Chile, I travelled to practically all mining countries in the region, where I unfortunately also got to know the dark side of illegal mining, mainly in the Peruvian jungle area. Since the late 90`s I have been advocating for the use of state-of-the-art technologies in mining, which culminated in the realization of the 1st virtual, mixed and immersive reality congress for environmental, safety and educational proposes in the mining sector. Back in Germany, I realized that there is still a lot of business opportunities in securing strategic metals and technology transfer.
