Unsere Story
The idea for hiptron started with my grandparents. I saw how declining mobility affected not only their independence, but also their dignity. The rollator was perceived as a symbol of giving up rather than support, and shame often delayed accepting help. As a child, I already questioned why such an important aid was so poorly designed.
Later, during an internship in a nursing home, I saw this experience repeated. At the same time, it became clear that the technology to do better already exists, but is rarely applied in aging-related products. The problem isn’t a lack of innovation, but a lack of user-centered thinking.
The rollator stands as a symbol of this gap: its core design dates back to the 1980s, while lifestyles and expectations have changed dramatically. With hiptron, I want to redefine mobility and social participation in aging by turning assisted walking into a smart, connected, and dignified experience. Built together with co-founders who want to create lasting impact.
